1. What is BG BAU and what is behind the occupational safety premium?

BG BAU (Berufsgenossenschaft der Bauwirtschaft) is the statutory accident insurance for construction, cleaning and construction-related companies. Its central aim is to avoid accidents at work and health hazards - through targeted prevention and promotion.

With the occupational safety premium, BG BAU supports companies that invest in ergonomic, safety-relevant and health-promoting work equipment. The subsidy currently amounts to up to €700 per measure - a strong incentive for greater occupational safety.

2 Why are CargoMaster stair climbers eligible?

Our electric stair climbers from the CargoMaster series reduce physical strain when transporting heavy loads up and down stairs - e.g. on construction sites, in public buildings or in the field. This protects the health of your employees and reduces the risk of accidents at work and back problems.

Models such as the CargoMaster C120, the CC system, the powerful A350 and the new C400 meet all the requirements for a stair climber that is suitable for use on stairs - and replace dangerous lifting with safe technology.

3. What are the criteria for funding by BG BAU?

Key points of this chapter

To qualify for BG BAU funding, stair climbers must meet certain requirements such as CE marking, product training at the time of sale and functions such as battery indicator, adjustable handles, safety belt, etc. All CargoMaster models fully meet these criteria and have been tested and officially listed by BG BAU on site.

For a product to be eligible for the occupational safety premium, it must meet certain requirements. These include, among other things:

  • Electric drive,
  • CE marking and German operating instructions,
  • offer of product training/instruction for the user,
  • battery level indicator and secured battery holder,
  • adjustable handles and climbing speed,
  • safety belt and puncture-proof tires,
  • integrated braking system to prevent rolling away
  • and much more.  

All CargoMaster models fully meet these criteria. Our stair climbers have been developed for the safe, ergonomic transportation of heavy loads up and down stairs - from washing machines to heating systems.

In spring 2025, BG BAU visited our factory in person and carried out a comprehensive inspection of us and our products. The result: in addition to the models already listed, the other devices have now also been officially recognized.

4. Newly listed: The entire CargoMaster range is now eligible for funding

Since 30.06.2025 it is official: Our C400 and A350 models have also been included in the BG BAU subsidy list.

This means that the entire CargoMaster range is now eligible - and the BG BAU premium of up to €700 can be applied for for every CargoMaster stair climber.

  • more safety in everyday working life
  • and up to €700 subsidy when purchasing a CargoMaster.
